InfoShare with ERes: fast, free files online

Need to share articles for your clerkship program? Wondering how you're going to distribute readings for your journal club? Are you responsible for handing out articles for resident report? ERes, the same software that makes it easy for students to access electronic course reserves from home, may be your answer. With ERes, you can create links to Web sites or electronic journal articles, import and post your Word, Powerpoint and Excel documents, create documents on the fly, arrange articles in folders, and monitor the use of your materials. Best of all, it is easier than programming your VCR.

There are just a few things you need to think about before getting started.

  • Access is restricted by UWNetID, so all of the people in your group must be UW students, faculty or staff.
  • You are responsible for complying with copyright law. If you choose to share copyrighted materials you have several options.
  • If you need a more interactive way of sharing documents, consider using the Catalyst Peer Review Tool or the Virtual Case Tool.

See the attached instructions to help you get started. Once you begin to use the system, you will find that it is quite intuitive. You will also find that it allows you to do far more than linking to existing electronic articles.
