Finding Bioethics Resources

  1. Use suggested links on the HealthLinks Ethics page
  2. Use the Encyclopedia of Bioethics for background information. The Encyclopedia of Bioethics is linked on the HealthLinks Ethics page, or just type the title in the HealthLinks Search box at the top of each HealthLinks page for the link. When the Encyclopedia is open, then click on eTable of Contents or eBook Index to find your topic.
  3. Find bioethics articles using the PubMed or CINAHL Plus databases.
    1. PubMed:
      1. Strategy 1: Type your topic in the PubMed search box. Click on Limits, and then limit your search to the Subset: Bioethics. If desired, you may want to further refine your search topic to "nurses OR nursing".

        Example: pain management AND (nurses OR nursing)
        Limits: Bioethics
      2. Strategy 2: Type your topic in the PubMed search box. Combine your topic with "ethics, nursing".

        Example: pain management AND ethics, nursing
    2. CINAHL Plus:
      1. Enter your topic in the first search box and ethics, nursing in the second search box. Click Search.

        Example: truth disclosure and ethics, nursing
