Learning Objectives
By the end of this lecture (and with a little practice outside of class), you will be able to:
- Connect to library resources - both on and off-campus
- Navigate HealthLinks to find resources that can be used to answer your drug information questions
- Identify how to get help with the library and library resources
HSL Library
The Health Sciences library (HSL) is located in T-334. Note: this is the only unlocked door evenings, weekends and holidays. If you come through the building from another direction, you will need to have your Access card activated.
Visit the HSL web page to see our hours, contact information, and directions.
Please review our Code of Conduct as well as the Policy on Use of Computers in the University Libraries.
Virtual HSL Library
Our web site is open 24 hours a day - please come visit.
Getting Started with Library Resources will take you through the 6 easy steps of starting with the library. The key to accessing library resources effectively from off-campus is to use the Libraries proxy server. When working from off-campus, click on the off-campus access button on a HealthLinks or Libraries page (even if you have already logged in to MyUW) or use the proxy bookmarklet after the fact. Instructions for installing the bookmarklet may be found on the Connecting to UW Restricted Resources page.
Electronic resources are licensed for the personal use of current UW students, staff and faculty. You are responsible for reading and abiding by the guidelines listed in the Responsible Use of Electronic Resources web page .
