Art Gallery Exhibit
"Mechanical Virtue" runs from March 21-June 23 and features images from
scientific atlases-brain slices, pathogens, bullet wounds and
eyeballs-executed in an array of nineteenth-century photographic
processes, all pressed into service as manifestos of a new objectivity
that emerged in the 1800s. Our Health Sciences Library is the source
for some of these featured images, http://www.henryart.org/mechvirtue.htm
This exhibition provides historical perspective on the collaboration
between artists and scientist presented in the main Henry exhibition,
