Finding Health
Statistics
Need to find statistics? Try the new Statistics Search on
HealthLinks. Locating relevant statistics can be one of the most
challenging aspects of health research. The Statistics Search
indexes a variety of international, national, regional and local
statistics sources and data sets.
Locate this new feature on the HealthLinks navigation bar under the
Reference Heading. Just click on "Statistics" to bring up a search box. You can also
search via an extensive list of topics.
Making a Gift to the Health
Sciences Libraries
The UW Office of Development has created secure online forms to
encourage donations to departments all over campus, including the
Health Sciences Libraries. This online form is at:
https://secure.gifts.washington.edu/funds.asp?source_typ=2&source=EID
You will see information on two of our funds, the Health Sciences
Library Fund, and the Health Sciences Library Unrestricted Funds.
There are also links to additional UW funds plus other ways to
support the UW.
History of Medicine Subset in
PubMed
A new subject subset, "History of Medicine" is available via the LIMITS
Subset pull down menu in PubMed. The History of Medicine subset
contains approximately 33,000 history related journal citations unique
to the former HISTLINE database. Citations are on the history of
health-related professions, sciences, specialties, individuals,
institutions, drugs, and diseases in parts of the world and covering
all historic periods. This subset can also be used in a search as
history [sb].
Example: tuberculosis AND history [sb]
