CLINICAL EVIDENCE AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY ON HEALTHLINKS
****************************************************************************************
Clinical Evidence, a product of BMJ Publishing, is now available via our HealthLinks Databases, and, on the Care Provider Toolkit. Clinical Evidence summarizes randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews for relevance with an emphasis on the types of questions arising in primary care. Sometimes called the friendly front end of the Cochrane Library, Clinical Evidence takes Cochrane, and other, high quality information and pulls it together in one place in a concise format. Updated every six months, Clinical Evidence covers about 300-400 questions or conditions. Both benefits and harms are listed with the authors pointing out gaps in knowledge by indicating where evidence is lacking. Only the evidence is provided with no expert recommendation based on the assumption that the decisions to apply evidence to patient care rests with the clinician.
