Journal Citation Reports [JCR] - annual update, new
features
************************************************************
ISI, the Institute for Scientific Information, will be doing its
annual
update of its JOURNAL CITATION REPORTS database on April 25, 2001.
The
JCR is a unique resource tool for journal evaluation, using citation
data
drawn from over 8,400 journals worldwide from virtually all areas
of
sciences, technology and the social sciences. The JCR can show
the
highest impact journals, most frequently used journals and the
largest
journals.
New features will include:
* Trend graphs showing five years of impact factor history in a
bar
chart
* Links in the Web of Science to the JCR Web appearing on the
full
records from the latest five years of article data in the
Web of Science
* Links between the JCR Web and ulrichsweb.com (the web-based
Ulrich's Periodical Directory published by Bowker) appearing on
the full records of journals that are listed in both products
LinkOut, the way to link to journal articles in
PubMed
******************************************************
Finding complete journal articles within PubMed MEDLINE has
become
faster! When you now connect to PubMed from HealthLinks, a UW icon
will
appear in the abstract and citation format of a record so you can
link
directly to the full text article. These links are only available
from
participating publishers.
