Loansome Doc Service: Non-UW Affiliates outside the U.S. and Canada (including UW Alumni)

Loansome Doc allows users to order copies of articles after searching PubMed. Non-UW affiliates outside the U.S. and Canada, (including UW alumni), should use the instructions below. Separate instructions are available for University of Washington students, staff, and faculty and non-UW affiliates within the U.S. and Canada.

To ensure prompt processing of your document requests, it is crucial that you read the following information completely and follow all instructions accurately in order to complete the Loansome Doc registration process:

  1. The following fees are charged per article in U.S. currency. All prices are subject to change without notice.

    Base Price for Article Photocopy:

    From UW Libraries collection

    $14.00

    From a non-UW collection

Actual cost plus $14.00 handling fee

    Additional Charges:

    International Fax

    for information, email hslorder@u.washington.edu

    Copyright Fee (if applicable)

    $19.50

  2. Payment Options: We will not send invoices to clients outside of North America. You must pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). You may telephone, email, mail or fax us your credit card information. All credit card information will be kept on file in a secure location to be used as payment for all future requests, unless otherwise stated. Do not enter your card information in your Loansome Doc Account because their webpage is not secure. You may type "credit card on file" in the Comment to Library field. We will not process your requests until we receive your credit card information. If you anticipate doing a lot of business with us, you may wish to establish a deposit account. Contact us for further information.
  3. The Authorization Code for the University of Washington Health Sciences Libraries is WAUWAS.
  4. In the Ordering Preferences field you may choose your delivery method. We provide all methods listed, however you must meet certain technical requirements. You must download and print the test document before you request PDF delivery, because we cannot provide any technical support for this delivery method.
  5. You must select a Max Cost per Article because prices vary depending on availability. For items we do not own the average cost is $50.00; if your Max Cost is below this your requests may be cancelled. Costs can range from $14.00 to $70.00. We will cancel all requests that are below our minimum rate of $14.00.
