About the Films

The Girl in White - In this 1952 movie June Allyson plays Dr. Emily Dunning with her usual spunk, giving the subject matter a great reading. UW Libraries made special arrangements to get a copy of this rare film - don't miss out on the opportunity to see it!

Wanted! Doctor on Horseback -Looks at the life of Dr. Mary Percy who left England for the wilds of northern Alberta in 1929 to become the first and only doctor in the area.

Helen's War: Portrait of a Dissident - Dr. Helen Caldicott is a firebrand anti-nuclear campaigner, celebrated author and Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Helen's War tracks her roller-coaster tour armed with her fifth book, The New Nuclear Danger.
