Student Technology Fee Support for the Learning Commons

Important support for the Learning Commons has been provided by the Student Technology Fee. The Learning Commons supports the educational missions of the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. The Learning Commons is located in the Health Sciences Library on the third floor of the T Wing of the Health Sciences Building.

Replace outdated equipment in the Microlab.

Proposal: H.S. Library Microlab/Learning Commons Update (2007-025)
In order to continue providing high quality service for our users, we requested 65 workstations to replace 4-year old equipment in the three classrooms. We also requested funding to purchase a slide scanner and a transparency scanner to replace equipment which has failed.

- Health Sciences Library Microlab - Replace Outdated Equipment (2005-029)
  In this proposal, we requested $141,489.75 to improve the Microlab. We asked for: 58 workstations to replace 4-year old equipment, DVD/CD creation software, JAWS screen reading software, hardware to add 2-sided print capability to existing printers and headphones. - Upgrade of Health Sciences Libraries PCs - student-requested enhancement (2005-035)
  In this proposal, we requested $108,640.00 to replace 70 four-year old workstation in the Health Sciences Library and the Social Work Library. We also propose to install Microsoft Office software on the Social Work Library PCs. Click here to comment on this proposal.

Health Sciences Library Microlab Macintosh Replacement and Software Purchase (2004-025)

We requested $61,208.60 to replace 10 Macintosh workstations and to purchase licenses for a number of software packages. Requested software includes: A.D.A.M. Interactive Anatomy, Acrobat, EndNote, Nutritionist Pro, StatTransfer, three web-based molecular biology/bioinformatics tools and software to improve system stability.
