CD-ROMs which accompany books and other items in the Health Sciences Library collection are shelved by call number with the book or serial volume.
A user wishing to use a library CD-ROM can:
- check out the CD-ROM if it is a circulating item and the user has a library borrower's card or
- make an appointment with Microlab staff to use the CD-ROM in the Microlab
Software may not be loaded by users on Microlab computers. Users must make an appointment with Microlab staff to use CD-ROMs during regular library hours.
Microlab staff will attempt to load any necessary software on the machine of their choosing and will uninstall the software after the user finishes with it.
Some software packages may not be compatible with the Microlab systems, and may not be viewed in the Microlab.
If the software or data on the CD-ROM is found to conflict with the standard Microlab computer setup, the CD-ROM will be officially discarded from the library collection.
The content of CD-ROMs is protected by United States copyright law. Making copies is a violation of copyright law, and is prohibited.
