MD Consult
MD Consult is an integrated, continuously updated online medical information service that includes an extensive collection of medical books, journals, drug information, patient education materials, online CME, and personalized daily medical updates.
Users must be using a UW-IP computer (includes UWICK and proxy server access) to choose between generic and custom access. The Welcome screen at that point gives you two options: 1) generic account where you click a single button to enter MD Consult, or 2) personal account where the user enters a personal userid and password before continuing.
The Generic Account allows users who do not want to see or set up customized features, such as personalized patient handouts, CME and tailored news updates, to get to MD Consult information without setting up an individual account.
The Personal Account allows the user to produce personalized patient handouts, use the CME Center to access modules with online tests and credit, see tailored news updates, and see the complete Drug Updates. Here is the registration process for a Personal Account:
- Register now or follow the link labeled 'MD Consult' on HealthLinks pages.
- Click on 'Get a Personal Account' on the MD Consult welcome page.
- Go through the User Registration process.
Note: If you choose the Personal Account, each time you go to MD Consult you will use the user name and password you set up during the registration process.
Additional Help is available in the MD Consult FAQ or within the MD Consult system.
