Getting Started With Library Resources
Get Your UW NetID and Password
Your UW NetID is your personal network identification giving you access to UW computing services and library resources such as:
- MyUW and email
- Catalyst Tools (teaching tools)
- Off-campus access to restricted resources through the Libraries Proxy Service
- Desktop delivery of articles
- ERes, The UW Libraries electronic course reserves system
It will also let you:
- Reserve a group study room
- Manage your library account, e.g. renew books
- Place requests and holds from the Libraries Catalog or WorldCat local
- Use computer workstations in the library
- Access wireless connections on campus
Connect
from Off-Campus
Most online resources, including databases,
e-journals, and textbooks,
are restricted (indicated with a lock icon
)
and are available only to current UW students, staff, and faculty members.

explains the steps for accessing these resources from off-campus using the
Off-Campus Access links on HealthLinks pages or the proxy
bookmarklet.

Visit the Health Sciences Library
The Health Sciences Library is located in T-334 of the Health Sciences Building, with wireless connectivity, computer classrooms, and drop-in computers with a variety of software. Research and Information Services are also provided at Harborview Medical Center. Other UW Libraries are available as well.
