2  Connect from Off-Campus

Most online resources, including databases, e-journals, and textbooks, are restricted (indicated with a lock icon Lock icon) and are available only to current UW students, staff, and faculty members. "Connecting to UW Restricted Online Resources" explains the steps for accessing these resources from off-campus using the Off-Campus Access links on HealthLinks pages or the proxy bookmarklet.

HealthLinks is your starting point. Bookmark it today! It provides quick access to:

  • Toolkits: role-specific, selected collections of links to resources
  • PubMed: the premier database to journal articles in the health sciences. (This link takes you to a specially configured version of PubMed allowing ready access to UW licensed full text)
  • "How To" pages to help you find and use information
  • Ask Us form to get more information or ask questions

5  Visit the Health Sciences Library

The Health Sciences Library is located in T-334 of the Health Sciences Building, with wireless connectivity, computer classrooms, and drop-in computers with a variety of software. Research and Information Services are also provided at Harborview Medical Center. Other UW Libraries are available as well.

Library Liaisons are your friendly, live connections to the Health Sciences Libraries. Liaisons share information about library collections, services, department-specific resources, procedures for requesting new materials, and support the teaching, clinical, and research needs of each department.
