HealthLinks Toolbar for Firefox

The HealthLinks Toolbar for Firefox is trial software that integrates into the Firefox web browser Get Firefox!. Its purpose is to integrate various library services and resources directly into your browser. This page provides instructions on how to install, and how to use the HealthLinks toolbar.

Install the HealthLinks Toolbar for Firefox

Installation Instructions

  1. Click on the "Install the HealthLinks Toolbar for Firefox" link
  2. You will see the following warning in a yellow bar towards the top of your screen: "To protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site (healthlinks.washington.ed)u from asking you to install software on your computer."

  4. Click on the "Allow" button.
  5. On the "Software Installation" dialog, click "Install Now"

  6. Next, you will be prompted to restart Firefox

  7. Once you have restarted Firefox, you'll see the HealthLinks toolbar:

Instructions for Use

The HealthLinks Toolbar offers 3 main functions:

  1. To perform a search: type in your search argument, and then select from the drop-down box the resource you'd like to search.

  2. Use the links menu to navigate directly to selected websites

  3. For one-click off-campus access use the "Toggle the Proxy On/Off" button
